Shooting in Oak Park Leaves Victim Injured, Van Riddled with Bullet Holes

Oak Park, MI – On Friday, Aug. 4, Oak Park Public Safety Officers responded to the area of 9 Mile and Coolidge roads (Oak Park Shopping Center) following multiple reports of shots fired at 8:25 pm.
Upon arrival, responding officers located a Dodge Charger parked in a parking space riddled with several bullets holes and found multiple bullet casings on the pavement.
Shortly thereafter, officers located the vehicle owner who had been shot while seated in the vehicle. The individual was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Investigators are working to determine if this was a random or a targeted attack.
Witnesses on scene observed a small unknown make and model SUV fleeing the scene. The Oak Park Public Safety Investigation Bureau asks that anyone who was in the area or has any information regarding this case contact the Bureau at (248) 691-7511 or (248) 691-7518.
