OC Restaurant Quest – Eddie Merlot’s in Bloomfield Hills

Bloomfield Hills, MI – One request I get sometimes is to write about more fine dining establishments, so for the latest in the Restaurant Quest I decided to check out Eddie Merlot’s in Bloomfield Hills.
Eddie Merlot’s has a dozen locations across the country, with the Bloomfield Hills restaurant being the only one in Michigan.
For my fancy carryout meal, I ordered the Trio of Filet Medallions, the Classic Wedge Salad, Eddie’s Brussels Sprouts, and a Peanut Butter Cup. The Trio of Medallions seemed like a great way to sample steak options. Each 4 oz Filet Mignon medallion came topped differently. One was Oscar-style with bits of crab and a crown of asparagus sprigs. The second was covered with peppercorn sauce. And the third had a bacon Gorgonzola topping. It was an enjoyable mix of flavors.
The classic wedge was a delicious salad with a hunk of iceberg lettuce, cherrywood smoked bacon, gorgonzola crumbles, and tomatoes with blue cheese dressing. The Brussels Sprouts had caramelized onions, cherrywood smoked bacon, and parmsean.
The peanut butter cup for dessert was a tasty choice, with a creamy peanut butter fluff that is too rich to eat in one sitting, and a sweet crisp on top it was a rewarding way to end an elegant meal.
Eddie Merlot’s is known for their aged beef and seafood. Seafood options include Sea Bass, Yellowfin Tuna, Mojo Shrimp and Scallops. Steaks include the Prime Bourbon Ribeye, New York Strip, and the Filet Del Mar which is a 4 oz filet mignon, crab, shrimp, dijonnaise, and fingerling potatoes. There are also Tarpoly Creek Ranch Waguy options, shipped in from South Queensland, Australia.
Other dessert choices include carrot cake and triple chocolate cake.
Though I didn’t dine in, Eddie Merlot’s did have a warm and elegant decor. Ordering online for carryout was easy.
