Huntington Woods Seeking Applicants for Anti-Racism and Sustainability Committees
(City of Huntington Woods, July 15, 2023)
Huntington Woods, MI – The City is accepting applications for qualified volunteers interested in serving on our Anti-Racism Advisory Committee (ARAC) and Environmental Sustainability Advisory Committee (ESAC).
ARAC considers anti-racism-related issues and advises the City Manager and City Commission on city policies. Committee members suggest methods of implementing the city’s Anti-Racism Plan by reviewing and revising existing policies to make them more equitable, creating new policies and programs to promote an anti-racist perspective, and expanding opportunities to end institutional oppression.
*ARAC is seeking a new student representative, in addition to another regular committee member.*
ESAC studies environmental issues and makes recommendations to the City Commission on their implementation. Committee members suggest methods of aligning our programs, practices, and policies with the city’s Energy Vision Statement, as well as implementing the city’s Energy Plan.
