Woman Assaulted, Threatened with Gun in Target Parking Lot in Troy
Troy, MI – On July 7 at 9:10 pm Troy Officers were called to the parking lot of 1301 Coolidge, Target Department store for a reported assault.
Upon arrival, officers found a single victim with injuries to her face and a witness who helped stop the assault.
The victim informed officers that as she was entering her vehicle an unknown subject forced her driver’s door open and assaulted her. The victim was struck with a closed fist in the face and then the suspect pulled a handgun from his waistband. The victim was able to fight back and alert another individual who was nearby. The witness yelled at the suspect and ran towards the victim prompting the suspect to run away.
The victim described the suspect as approximately 30 years old, tall, thin build, light skin black male, wearing red shorts and a pale blue t-shirt. Video shows the man in the parking lot with a black backpack and a green hat.
The Troy Police Department is actively investigating this case and asking anyone who has information or recognizes the suspect in the attached photos to call 248.524.0777.
