OC Restaurant Quest: Art & Jake’s in Clarkston (Coming Soon to Northville)

Clarkston, Northville, Washington Township, Shelby Township, and Sterling Heights, MI – Art & Jake’s is a growing chain of sports bars that recently opened in Clarkston, with another in the works in Northville.
The Clarkston location, right off the Sashabaw Road exit of I-75 is a bustling place, with lots of seating, ample TVs, and sportsfans. I picked up a fabulous lunch to go, from their menu full of options and easy online ordering.
I had the Baked Italian Grinder, with bread so soft and buttery that it soaked up the flavors perfectly. This was made with ham, salami, pepperoni, mozzarella, red onion, tomato, lettuce, banana peppers and Italian dressing. It was so greasy and good.
The grinder comes with fries by default, but there are options for substitutions including red skins, waffle fries, broccoli or slaw. I had the slaw and it was creamy and crispy as expected.
I also treated myself to an order of Brussels Sprouts, made with bacon, diced tomatoes, balsamic dressing, and Asiago cheese. Such a decadent way to get in some vegetables!
Other appetizers include bang bang shrimp, fried pickles, salami, sweet heat cheese curds, Memphis burnt ends and more. There are many sandwiches, wraps, and burgers on the menu. The Original Blue Jay burger, for example, comes with grilled onions, bacon, American cheese, and a sunny side up egg. The Dirty Bird has fried chicken, sweet heat seasoning, pepperjack cheese, sweet and spicy pickles and chipotle aioli. And the Burnt Ends Tacos have crispy pork belly, spicy slaw, queso fresco, pickled red onions, and chipotle aioli.
There are entrees as well, including house meatloaf, voodo pasta, island chicken, mango glazed salmon and more.
The dessert menu matches in variety, including towering carrot cake, caramel sugar cookie with ice cream, chocolate lava cake and more.
