OC Restaurant Quest: Prime BBQ in Highland Township

Highland Township, MI – The smoked meats at Prime BBQ in Highland Township did not photograph as well as similar meals elsewhere, but that juicy, messy, fall apart as you pick it up tenderness comes only from the best selections of meat and the most careful preparation. Prime BBQ absolutely nailed it.

On my quest to try every restaurant in Oakland County, I had the pulled pork and half chicken combo dinner, which came with a slice of Texas toast, and sides of coleslaw and mac and cheese. The pork and the chicken were flavorful inside and out, and meltingly tender and rich. The cole slaw was crisp and delicious.

Other smoked meats include brisket, ribs, pulled chicken, smoked sausage, and rib tips. Sides include baked beans, cajun rice, collard greens, potato salad, house salad and more.

For the sauces there are seven different kinds, including Carolina BBQ, Bourbon Sauce, and Honey BBQ.
