OC Restaurant Quest: Soho Restaurant in Rochester Hills

Rochester Hills, MI – The quest to enjoy every restaurant in Oakland County continues with a visit to Soho Restaurant in Rochester Hills. Featuring high-quality Japanese and Korean dishes, it was a fantastic meal for myself and a friend.
We shared an order of chicken egg rolls for the appetizer, which were crispy on the outside and filled with tasty veggies and chicken.
For the main dish I ordered Bibimbab, which is a Korean dish of mixed veggies and rice topped with beef and a fried egg, served in hot stone bowl that makes the rice at the bottom soak up the flavors and get just a little bit crispy.
My friend ordered two sushi choices. First was the Philly Cheese Roll, made with crab salad, avocado, cucumber, shrimp, cream cheese, and eel sauce. The second was the Sunday Morning Roll, made with salmon and cream cheese, deep-fried and topped with yum yum sauce. Both seemed to be good choices.
Other tempting sushi rolls included the Yellotail and Scallion Roll, the Avocado Cucumber Roll, and the Shrimp Tempura Roll. Among the Specialty Rolls are the Sunset Roll (eel, crab, cream cheese, wrapped in sliced avocado and topped with eel sauce and white sauce), the Ninja Roll (crab, avocado, albacore tuna tempura, cream cheese, smelt egg and eel sauce), and the Hulk Roll (deep fried striped bass, spicy shrimp, crab salad wrapped with seasoned seaweed salad).
Soho also serves salads and noodle dishes, including Sansai (noodles with Japanese vegetables in a rich broth) and Tofu Yakisoba (pan fried noodles with fresh vegetables and deep fried tofu).
The atmosphere is fairly casual, in a modern space with a bar and lots of pretty strings of lights. They’re located in the Hampton Village shopping center, 2943 S. Rochester Road in Rochester Hills. Check them out online at www.sohorochesterhills.com
