OC Restaurant Quest – Biscuits and Gravy in Downtown Clawson

Clawson, MI – Biscuits & Gravy is winning the hearts of Clawsonites, with good reason!
I finally got to try this recently-opened brunch spot (that is recognizable for the chicken on top of the building) in Downtown Clawson. And it was a delight.
There were many sweet and savory options, with pancakes alone offering an impressive variety.
I picked well with the Lemon Pancakes, which were topped with cream cheese that I thought looked like the character from Lemonhead candy, with a blueberry for each eye and a twisted up lemon slice for the sprig of hair. I’m not really sure if that was their intent or not, but either way, it tasted great.
Other pancake options include Cinnamon Swirl, S’mores, Oreo, Strawberry Cheesecake Pancakes and more. French Toast and Waffles are also well-represented.
Given the name of the diner, I felt compelled to include the Homestyle Benedict which is a biscuit topped with fried chicken, eggs, cheese, and sausage gravy. Traditional Biscuits and Gravy are an option too. Other Benedicts Include the Classic, the French (Croissant topped with ham, Swiss, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce), the Lox, the Greek, the Veggie and more.
Thoughtful meals are part of the lunch menu as well. I loved the Apricot Salmon Salad, which popped with the flavors of apricots, dried cherries, Gorgonzola cheese, grilled salmon, and raspberry vinaigrette. Salads come with a choice of pita bread or biscuit – so if you’re curious to taste the name while still aiming a little healthier you can.
The sandwich menu contains a nice variety of classics including the Reuben, Grilled Chicken Pita, Classic Club, Patty Melt, Crispy Chicken, BLT, and Tuna on a croissant.
