Summer Storm Brings Power Outages Across Metro Detroit
(Crystal A. Proxmire, June 25, 2023)
Oakland County, MI – Over 60,000 DTE Customers lost power Sunday evening as thunderstorms rolled across SE Michigan.
According to the DTE website, “Severe weather has hit Southeast Michigan. DTE’s Storm Response Teams are preparing to restore power to impacted customers as soon as conditions are safe. Report any outage or downed power line. Please stay safe. Keep at least 25 feet away from any downed power lines and anything they are in contact with — consider them live and dangerous.”
The website also tells customers “After a major storm, it takes us several hours to analyze the extent of damage and develop restoration schedules. You can get a restoration estimate online from a location that has power or by using the DTE Energy Mobile App. You may also call 800.477.4747 and use our automated system. Remember that estimates may be revised if damage is more severe than anticipated or continuing severe weather delays our restoration efforts.”
