OC Restaurant Quest: CJ’s Brewing Company in Commerce Township

Commerce Township, MI – CJ’s Brewing Company has been serving up craft beer and food since 1997, and it was great to give them a try in this quest to feature every restaurant in Oakland County.
The menu claims to have the best pizza in town, so I opted for a square one topped with green olives that was pretty darn tasty. The thick dough baked up perfectly, leaving a crispy edge of cheese.
Other topping choices include red onion, tomato, green peppers, black olives, ham, bacon, anchovy, pineapple, pepperoni, Italian sausage, pickled jalapeños, mild peppers, grilled chicken, and fresh mushrooms.
I also got an order of bbq chicken wings that came with slices of celery and the choice of a dipping sauce. These were a delightful mess to pick apart and dip.
Other appetizers include deep fried pickles, sriracha-agave Brussels Sprouts, bangin’ shrimp and more. There are soups, salads and burgers on the menu as well.
The CJ’s fried chicken wrap comes with bacon, mixed greens, tomatoes, and house-made ranch, for example. For the burgers, one can build their own with a choice of toppings, or indulge in a CJ Brewing Company special like The Eddie, the Brewfire, or the Lower Straits Patty Melt.
There are several house beers available, including the Golden Lager, American Wheat, Lower Straits Stout, and the Rich-Hagg Red.
