Troy Police Arrest Suspect Accused of Hit and Run that Injured Child in May

TROY, MI – Troy police officers have arrested a suspect in connection with a hit-and-run crash that injured a 7-year-old girl on Saturday, May 13 at 10:51 am near the intersection of Silverstone Dr and Dryden in Troy.
Raed Yousef Abdalla, 27 years old, of Troy was arraigned on Tuesday, June 20 at the 52-4 District Court on charges of Felony Fail to Stop at the Scene of an Accident Causing Serious Injury.
Abdalla was given a $1,000,000 cash bond.
The Troy Police Traffic Safety Unit worked off witness information to identify the suspect vehicle that is familiar to the neighborhood. The driver struck the young girl while she crossed the street riding her bicycle.
Officers learned that Abdalla is connected to a used car dealership in Roseville, MI where Roseville Police located the suspect vehicle within 45 minutes of the crash incident.
The victim suffered a broken femur, broken pelvis, and severe abrasions. Dearborn Police Department arrested Abdalla at a family member’s house on June 19, 2023.
