Troy Resident Shot While Confronting Catalytic Converter Thieves

Troy, MI – At 3:42 am on June 13, 2023, the Troy Police Department received a 911 call from a homeowner who advised he had been shot.
Officers responded to a home in the area of Fredmoor St and South Boulevard and found one male victim with a leg injury.
Officers and responding paramedics treated injuries on the scene before transporting him to a local hospital. The victim is currently in stable condition.
The victim advised that before the shooting, he confronted two subjects in his driveway who were stealing the catalytic converter from his pickup truck.
After the victim called out, both subjects fled toward a dark-colored SUV waiting on the grass near the driveway. One subject turned towards the homeowner and fired a handgun before the SUV fled on South Boulevard.
Before this incident, Troy officers were in the area of Cypress and Bristol investigating an additional catalytic converter theft from a vehicle parked in the driveway. Neighbors describe a similar dark- colored SUV fleeing the area.
