(OCSO/ Oakland County, May 12, 2023)

Pontiac, MI – A Pontiac woman and her husband were found fatally shot in their home Thursday in what Oakland County Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating as a homicide/suicide.

The bodies of Dr. Calandra Letisha Green, 50, and her husband, Charles Quincy Green, 52, were discovered in the living room of their home in Pontiac. Dr. Green was employed as the health officer for the Oakland County Health Division.

“A terrible and tragic situation that we seem to see more often these days,” Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. “It’s hard to understand how someone that professes his love for another person can at some point commit such violence on them. Our prayers are with all those affected by this horrific loss.”

The Oakland County Medical Examiner ruled Dr. Green’s death a homicide. The husband’s death was ruled a suicide. Sheriff’s deputies were sent to the home about 1:30 p.m. Thursday on a welfare check after Dr. Green did not appear for an appointment. Family and coworkers were also unable to reach her by phone.

Deputies entered the home and found Dr. Green’s body on the floor with her back against the couch and her husband nearby. Both suffered fatal gunshot wounds. A handgun was recovered at the scene.

A motive for the shooting was not known and the case remains under investigation.

Oakland County Executive Dave Coulter released the following statement:
