Bloomfield Township, MI – On May 8, 2023, at approximately 6:00pm, the Bloomfield Township Police Department responded to a parcel of private property in the area Wattles Road and Kensington Road for an off-road recreational vehicle (ORV) crash.
A 38-year-old male and resident of Sterling Heights was driving the ORV when he lost control of the vehicle causing it to go airborne and strike a tree. The male was not wearing a helmet and was not using a seatbelt.
The Bloomfield Township Fire Department responded to the scene immediately and transported the male to Beaumont Royal Oak. The male was unresponsive upon arrival to the hospital and was pronounced deceased by hospital personnel.
Alcohol does not appear to have played a factor in the crash, but toxicology reports are pending. Member of the South Oakland County Crash Investigation Team (SOCCIT) responded to the scene to do a full investigation of the crash.
