Ferndale Biology Students Get Hands On Experience with Trip to Lawrence Tech

Ferndale, MI – Two of Alison Maes’ Ferndale High School biology classes traveled to Lawrence Technological University this past week to perform experiments, tour campus, and learn about college and career opportunities.
Students performed experiments on the evolutionary morphology of different species blood types and also performed experiments about cellular stress response in worms using fluorescence microscopy. They had the opportunity to tour the LTU campus while learning about all of the STEM opportunities available before a lunch seminar, where they received swag bags and learned more about the many varied careers possible in the life sciences.
