OC Restaurant Quest: Alex’s Royal Grill in Troy

Troy, MI – Searching for a family-owned diner with lots of menu options? Alex’s Royal Grill in Troy could be just the place. Located on Livernois just south of Big Beaver, this restaurant has been serving customers since 2009. The owners had a restaurant in Detroit prior to that.
I went for breakfast, and gave myself a sweet breakfast treat – the apple-filled crepes. This simple, yet delicious, meal had soft warm crepes rolled up around apple filling that had slices of apples as well as a sweet apple jelly. Gobs of whipped cream on top added to the sweetness.
There are other breakfast options at Alex’s Royal Grill, including a nice selection of pancakes, French toast, and crepes. Omelette choices include the Italian sausage omelette (with grilled green pepper, onion, and Swiss cheese), the Greek omelette (with gyro meat, onions, tomato, and feta cheese), and the workout omelette (made with egg whites, grilled chicken, and broccoli).
For lunch and dinner choices include the fried chicken sandwich, BLT pita, jumbo shrimp, Caesar salad, tender ribeye steak, bacon cheeseburger and much, much more.
