March 11 – Giddy Up and Get Your Tickets for Berkley Education Foundations ‘Off to the Races’ Event
Berkley, MI – Tickets for the 14th annual Berkley Education Foundation fundraiser party “Off to the Races” are on sale now until the event sells out.
Off to the Races will be held from 6-10 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at The Kingsley Hotel in Bloomfield Hills. The fundraiser party features simulated horse racing, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction powered by mobile bidding, a cash bar, and the opportunity to win a $2,500 vacation.
Off to the Races benefits the Berkley Education Foundation, which helps maintain and enhance educational opportunities and programs for all Berkley School District students — from academics to arts, music to math, and social studies to science. The Foundation’s four main giving initiatives are:
- Supporting teaching and learning through innovation grants
- Ensuring all Berkley School District students can attend 8th-grade college tours
- Providing enrichment programs for all elementary and middle schools
- Supporting Berkley High School Maxfield Science Symposium participants with scholarships
“The Berkley Education Foundation’s mission is to maintain and enhance educational opportunities for all students (in our district). The BEF can only accomplish this with the support of our community. Every dollar raised goes back into the Foundation’s giving programs and benefits all students,” Berkley School District Director of Communications Jessica Stilger says.
“The Foundation is excited to welcome guests to a new venue this year,” says Stilger, who also serves as Berkley Education Foundation executive director. “Even though it’s a new place, the fun of the event will remain — connecting with friends and, most importantly, funding the #BerkleyDifference.”
Upward of 300 people typically attend the event and raise more than $60,000 through ticket sales, sponsorships, betting bucks and by “buying” and naming horses.
Event tickets are $40 per person until March 1, when the price goes up to $50. VIP tables for groups of 10 also are available for $1,000 and include 10 event tickets, 100 betting bucks, two bottles of wine and reserved seating in a prime location.
