Businesses Connect at Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce Coffee

(Crystal A. Proxmire, Feb. 20, 2023)

Royal Oak, MI – Starting a day with a room full of business owners, managers, and sales representatives can be an invigorating way for those with an entrepreneurial spirit to connect.  That’s why the Greater Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce hosts morning coffees to help bring members together.

Recently nearly 50 people came out the Coffee Connection at Galloway and Collens, PLLC in Huntington Woods. Founders Howard Collens and Scott Galloway were there to greet the guests, who also enjoyed coffee from Chazzano Coffee Roasters in Berkley and pastries from Crispelli’s in Royal Oak.

“We love being part of the Chamber and part of the community,” Galloway said.

At a Coffee Connection there is time for people to mingle before everyone gets in a big circle – or when the room is long it is more like an oval – and each person gets to introduce their business. And then everyone gets to mingle again – connecting with people whose services they may need or for other collaborations.

Among those in the big oval this day were Jill Gleba who is a financial consultant and author of the book Uncommon $ence, Annette Kizzy of Trade First which is an organization that connects businesses for trade opportunities, and Evelyn Ellul of Ultimate Image Model and Talent LLC who can help business find the right face for their advertising or videos.  Community organizations benefit from the gatherings as well.  Royal Oak Schools Superintendent Mary Beth Fitzpatrick was there keeping lines of communication open, and realtor Jen Seiler used her time in front of the group to recruit volunteers and sponsors for an event benefiting Gigi’s House.

The Greater Royal Oak Chamber has other events and opportunities as well.  There are 475 members representing all types of businesses Events include other networking opportunities, a summer concert series, the Royal Oak In Bloom plant show, The Art of Fire art show, Barktoberfest which brings pet lovers together, as well as groups like the Business Women’s Network and Royal Oak Young Ambitious Leaders (ROYAL).
