Feb 14 – St. Luke’s Episcopal in Ferndale Hosting “Vigil in a World of Violence”
Ferndale, MI- St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Ferndale is hosting a candlelight vigil Tuesday evening in the wake of the Michigan State University shooting.
According to the Facebook Event Page:
We do not gather every time,
because, well, there are too many times.
because, well, there are too many times.
But sometimes the violence and the horror hits close,
and we cannot shield ourselves. We feel it more deeply. We grieve and we rage and we ask ourselves, “What can we do?”
and we cannot shield ourselves. We feel it more deeply. We grieve and we rage and we ask ourselves, “What can we do?”
What can we do for this broken and hurting world, O God?
So, for those who wish for a more formal time to grieve
(and rage … and wonder … and seek God’s solace … and God’s strength)
we will meet in the church at 7pm tonight.

To pray, and light candles, and place ourselves in the hands of God
asking to be healed, and to be sent out.
