Michigan State Police Trooper Injured in Crash on Dixie Highway

Groveland Township, MI – A Michigan State Police trooper was transported to Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc after his vehicle was struck head-on by a pickup truck on Dixie Highway in Groveland Township.

According to MSP Second District on Twitter “Preliminary investigation revealed that a Metro North trooper was southbound on Dixie Hwy in the right lane when a pickup truck driver attempted to pass a salt truck while heading northbound. The pick up driver lost control, crossed over all lanes of travel and struck the patrol car. The trooper was transported to Genesys Hospital in Grand Blank for injuries to his leg and hip and the at fault driver was also transported for minor injuries. Investigation continues.”

They also said that the at-fault driver was transported with minor injuries.

A later Tweet shares that the trooper was being released from the hospital and taking a few days to rest. “Wear your seatbelt, troopers do,” they said.
