Have You Gotten Your Dog Licensed Yet? Here’s How…

(Oakland County, Feb. 5, 2023)

Oakland County, MI  – If you have a dog and haven’t had it licensed yet, here’s a reminder.

All dogs must be rabies vaccinated and licensed beginning at four months of age per Michigan State Law. Oakland County dog licenses are good for a calendar year (January – December). The year can be found above the serial number on the front of the tag.

A one-year license for a spayed/neutered dog is $15. A three-year license for a spayed or neutered dog is $40. For dogs not spayed or neutered, a one-year license is $25, and a three-year license is $70. After June 2, 2023, a one-year license goes up to $40 for all dogs.

Licenses may be purchased online at oakgov.com/petadoption, at the shelter’s front counter beginning at 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday or at most city/village/township municipal offices and numerous veterinary offices.
