Feb 18 – Vietnam Veteran Joe Mishler Will Present Stories of Military Life to Benefit Fisher House
Fenton, MI – Joe Mishler has been interviewing and collecting stories of military life and Veterans. He even taught Vietnam Class at Holly High School. Now he is presenting his work. Joe Unplugged will take place on February 18, 2023, at the Fenton Village Players starting at 7pm.
Mishler, a combat wounded Vietnam Veteran and retired high school teacher, will give the presentation. Joe has been involved in theatre since 1983 and this performance will show a different side. Stories will span a variety of different time periods. Stories reflect different aspects of military and veteran life of both men and women.
Joe is one of the directors of the Holly Area Veterans Resource Center, and President of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 175. This past summer he was the co-chair bring the Traveling Wall to Holly for the first time. He is also active with the American Legion Holly Post 149. He chose to raise money for the Fisher House because of the American Legion and past state Commander Steve Striggow.
Joeunplugged is sponsored by American Legion Holly Post 149 and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 175 Genesee County.
The Fisher House is located in Ann Arbor behind the Veterans Administration Hospital and the University of Michigan Hospital. Veterans and their loved ones can stay there while someone is in the hospital. They provide housing, food and other amenities while a loved one is hospitalized. All of this is free.

Tickets for Joeunplugged are $10 for one and $15 for two. Before the program there will be a 50-50 raffle and other items to bid on. Donations can be made during the evening. There will also be informational booths.
