B.O.S.S. Interview: Derek Werenka of M1 Realty

Ferndale, MI – There are ups and downs in owning a business, just as there are ups and downs in the Real Estate market, yet to M 1 Realty founder Derek Werenka there is nothing like being his own boss.  “It’s something new every day,” he said.  “It’s cool. And it’s a learning process along the way.”

Wereka got his Real Estate license after buying his first home.  When working with the agent, he thought “This guys not doing anything I can’t do, and he’s making a lot more money.”  So he went to school and built a business.

Now he and his team of agents help people buy and sell properties throughout the Metro Detroit Area, from an office in Downtown Ferndale.

He shared some of the best and worst parts of entrepreneurship in this recent BOSS (Business and Organization Super Stars) Interview with Oakland County Times.  The best, he said, is “giving the keys to that first time home buyer for the first time.  You can’t put a price tag on that. It’s an awesome experience.”
