OC Restaurant Quest: Nikola’s BBQ in Southfield

Southfield, MI – Nikola’s BBQ at Ten Mile and Telegraph in Southfield is so popular, there’s a separate entrance and waiting room for carryout customers. In spite of being packed, the team worked quickly this weekend making sure that hungry customers went home with their home style meals.
I ordered the ribs and chicken combo, which had a seven bone slab of ribs with cups of bbq sauce along with delicious crispy broasted chicken. Combos come with one hot side and one cold side, and I picked the broasted potatoes and the pasta salad. The pasta salad was made with Italian dressing and bits of vegetables. Plus the meal came with a nice thick slice of garlic bread.
Other choices include fries, collard greens, baked beans, sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, cole slaw, and tossed salad.
In addition to chicken and ribs, Nikola’s offers fish, shrimp, pork chops, and catfish.
For dessert I had a very tasty slice of carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. There’s also New York cheesecake, peach cobbler, German chocolate cake, key lime pie, sweet potato pie and more. Appetizers like chicken strips and potato skins are also available.
