Man Arrested After Firing Shots into the Air at Holly Lanes

Holly Township, MI – Metro North Activity: 12/30/2022 at 8:15 PM Location: Holly Lanes Bowling Alley, 2430 Grange Hall Rd, Holly Twp. Synopsis: Metro North troopers were dispatched to Holly Lanes in Holly Twp. for a suspect who just fired three to four shots into the air.
While headed to the bowling alley, witnesses reported the suspect ran into nearby woods. The Detroit Regional Communication Center (DRCC) was also advised the suspect was suicidal and stated he wanted to hurt himself and possibly others.
When troopers arrived they determined that no was was struck by the shots fired but, the suspect was armed with a handgun and was a danger to himself and the public. A perimeter was established around the area.
The DRCC was able to ping the suspect’s phone, which showed the suspect’s location to be several hundred feet into the woods. Troops responded to the area and were able to successfully locate and take the suspect into custody without incident. His firearm was also recovered and seized.
He was transported by EMS to Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc for an involuntary committal by troopers.
