Jan 11 -Red Cross Blood Drive at Costick Center in Farmington Hills
Farmington Hills, MI – The American Red Cross is sponsoring a blood drive with a theme of “Communities Coming Together.” The blood drive takes place on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023, from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Costick Center, located at 28600 W. Eleven Mile Road in Farmington Hills.
The Red Cross is working around the clock to meet the extraordinary blood needs of hospitals and patients. All blood types are needed, but Type O positive is in especially high demand because it can be transfused to patients in other blood groups and used in emergency cases when a patient’s blood type isn’t known. Blood donations are also used at area hospitals for lifesaving emergency and trauma care, surgeries, and treatment of serious diseases.
Anyone who donates from January 1 – 31, 2023 will automatically be entered for a chance to win an exciting trip for two to Super Bowl LVII in Phoenix! The prize includes travel, hotel, $500 gift card, pre-game activities and more. For details, visit http://www.RedCrossBlood.org/SuperBowl.

You may also streamline your donation experience and save up to 15 minutes on the day of your appointment by visiting www.redcrossblood.org/rapidpass to complete pre-donation reading and health history questions.
Giving blood takes approximately one hour, but your patience is appreciated particularly if the event is short staffed. Donors must be in general good health, weigh at least 115 pounds, and be 17 years of age or older. If a parent is present to fill out a permission form, 16-year-olds will be allowed to donate blood.
