Hazel Park Accepting Applications for City Council Vacancy

Hazel Park, MI – With the election of Mike McFall to State Representative, there is a vacancy on Hazel Park City Council.
The City released the following information for those interested in applying to finish out the term…
“The City of Hazel Park is expecting a vacancy on the City Council by the end of end of the year. Applications for this upcoming City Council vacancy will be accepted starting on 12/5/2022. Interested parties should submit a completed application form and a current resume to the City Clerk’s Office by 12:00 p.m. (noon) on 12/29/2022. Cover letters may be included as well, if desired.
“Applications may be submitted in-person or by mail (City Clerk’s Office, 111 E. Nine Mile Rd., Hazel Park, MI 48030), by email to lmayo@hazelpark.org, or by fax to (248) 414-5945.
“Applicants must be U.S. citizens of at least 18 years of age and must reside and be registered to vote in the City of Hazel Park. Application forms are available at the City Clerk’s Office or online at www.hazelpark.org. This process is designed to provide information to the City Council to fill the anticipated vacancy, and it is not required by Charter. Council is free to fill the vacancy with any qualified applicant of their choice.”
