E 9 Mile Construction Update from Ferndale DDA
(compiled, April 24, 2015)
Ferndale has begun its East Nine Mile Road multi-modal and resurfacing project, bringing more street design continuity by improving the walkability and bike connectivity to the east side of Downtown Ferndale.
One of the first improvements you will see is the dedicated right turns at East Nine Mile onto Woodward with the start of bike lane markings crossing Woodward traveling east.
East Nine Mile businesses and access to them are OPEN for business during construction. Concrete removal of curb and aprons have begun, and barricades have narrowed the road to two lanes during construction, but traffic continues to flow.
COMING UP NEXT WEEK:
Concrete work continues on north side of East 9 Mile, and then will shift to south side after Wednesday starting at Woodward Avenue. Complete details and construction updates are available online at www.dowtownferndale.com .
