OC Restaurant Quest: Star of India in Downtown Ferndale
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Dec. 2, 2022)
Ferndale, MI – Star of India has had a place in Downtown Ferndale for years, yet only recently was it purchased by Razzak Raju who has given new life to the elegant space and flavorful menu.
A friend and I got carryout, enjoying our feast. I had the Boneless Chicken Biryani which came with an ample serving of rice with veggies. My friend had the Beef Jalfrezi, which is a stir-fried curry dish with a thick spicy green chili pepper sauce, served with rice.
We also ordered the Eggplant Pakora, a Green Salad, and some delicious Peshwari Naan, which is bread made with almond, raisin, and coconut. Plus I got a delicious Mango Smoothie.
Everything was made with fresh ingredients and prepared with care.
Other menu selections include Bhindi Masala, Butter Chicken, Saag Paneer, Samosa, Shrimp Curry, Beef Dansak, and many other traditional Indian favorites.
Star of India is located at 180 W. 9 Mile Road in Downtown Ferndale. Dine in or order online at https://starofindiami.com/
