OC Restaurant QUEST: Our Reviews in Auburn Hills So Far…
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Oct. 29, 2022)
Auburn Hills, MI – For the past few years, Oakland County Times has been on a quest to try every restaurant in Oakland County. With over 300 meals under our belt, 14 have been in Auburn Hills.
From Downtown dining spots like Family Table Cafe, Duffy’s Pub, and Larco Bros Pizza, to a variety of cuisines like Nino’s Italian House, Rangoli Indian Cuisine, Taste of Europe Crepes, and Taste of Vietnam, there’s something for every palate in Auburn Hills.
I loved visiting Rainforest Cafe inside Great Lakes Crossing Mall for a unique experience of animated jungle animals, beautiful fish, a starlit sky, and even a rain forest mist. Plus the looks on kids faces when the mechanical animals start to roar is pretty great.
I really liked the concept of Taste of Europe Crepes, of which I wrote “The menu is full of interesting choices.
For the sweet side, options include the caramel apple pie crepe, S’mores crepe, chocolate cherry, PB & J, berry berry and more.
Some of the more inspired savory crepes include the beefy cheese, the spicy pulled pork, the gyro, the cordon blue, and the crepizza which features mozzarella, pepperoni, and pizza sauce.”
I also really liked the comfort of the Slim Jim at Lucas Coney Island, where ham and melted cheese on a soft roll paired well with chili cheese fries. On a nice cool day, such warmth and good flavor are welcome.
White Castle is the sponsor of our Restaurant Quest. Though there are no locations in Auburn Hills, cravers can enjoy sliders, fries, onion chips, chicken rings and more at locations in nearby Pontiac and Troy.
The list of restaurants I’ve reviewed is below. Please let me know any that I should add to the To Do list! Message editor@oc115.com or join in the conversation on Facebook.
