OC Restaurant Quest:  Orion Sports Bar

Lake Orion, MI – The quest to try every restaurant in Oakland County continues with a carryout from Orion Sports Bar.

This small but mighty watering hole offers a menu that surpasses typical bar food, and I was pleased with my Rattlesnake Pasta. Don’t worry, it’s actually made with chicken – a nice cut of blackened chicken served with red bell peppers, onions and Alfredo over a bed of fettuccine noodles and served with a side of garlic bread. I also enjoyed a side of tater tots, and actually ended up mixing them in with the pasta dish to help soak up the extra sauce. All of it was yummy.

Orion Sports Bar has a section of Hall of Fame burgers that includes the Dragon Slayer (Bacon, jalapenos, grilled onions, sauteed mushrooms, cheddar, American, Swiss and pepperjack cheese), The Tailgater (Bacon, hash browns, cheddar, Swiss, fried egg), the Maize n Blue (Blackened beef, bleu cheese crumbles, bacon, lettuce, tomato and garlic aioli), and the Sparty Stacker (Swiss cheese, onions, green olives and garlic aioli), and more.

“On the green” is the section for the salads, and appetizers like beer-battered onion rings and Bavarian pretzel rods are among the “pre-game” appetizers. There are sandwich choices as well, including a chicken Caesar wrap and a perch po’ boy.
