OC Restaurant Quest – Republica in Downtown Berkley

Berkley, MI- Republica is a Downtown Berkley restaurant with creative food and drink options. It was a great place to visit for The Revolution – a grass-fed beef burger topped with smoke gouda, bacon, fried egg, onion ring, arugula, tomato, and spicy mayo. This amazing burger was topped only by the Smokey Eyes craft cocktail. The best drink I’ve had in my life was made with smokey Mezcal, passion fruit liquor, cucumber, lime, and ginger beer. So good. My friend ordered the Flower Roast – a roasted cauliflower served with a tasty walnut garlic pesto sauce. Plus we feasted on Mitch’s Pita Bread and Dip.

Other choices include the tomato fennel soup, stuffed eggplant, pistachio salmon, and spicy goat cheese crustini. The Village Burger is made with lamb topped with feta, dill, green onion, Greek yogurt and yayas beans. There’s also the Buffalo and Blue Chicken featuring organic free range grilled chicken topped with buffalo sauce, celery, apple, and blue cheese slaw.

The beverage menu is exciting as well. The Newest Fashion drink, for example, includes Traverse City bourbon, sweet vermouth, luxardo, cherries, orange, and walnut bitters. The Buzzed Bee has Aquavit, St. Germain, yellow chartreuse, and grapefruit. And for something sweet there’s Hard Candy, made with vodka, sour cherry, fresh squeezed lemonade and a sugar rim.
