Madison Heights Moves to the Beat of Another Successful Trail Tunes Event
(Jason Theodoroff, Oct. 8, 2022)
Madison Heights, MI – The sounds of uptempo music resonated through the air of Madison Heights Civic Center Park during the afternoon of October 2nd for Trail Tunes.
From the sultry sound of ZOSETTE & THE GROOVE to the classic jam sound of STEVEN PHELPS, there was something for any lover of good music to appreciate. This was the third year for the TRAIL TUNES Strolling Music Festival.
While also listening to the free concert collaboration that went on for four hours, visitors could also indulge in the fantastic food options that ranged from ranch chicken pitas to award winning BBQ rib dinners. The choices of food were quite diverse.
Councilperson Mark Bliss gave Oakland County Times an overview of the event. “Unlike most festivals that shut down during the pandemic, this festival was created during it,” Bliss said. “A lot of these performers we saw here today are performers who have been with us through multiple years of the TRAIL TUNES festival. It’s fun to see both the evolution of the festival as well as the evolution of their set lists. This was a great event, we had hundreds of people come out here to Civic Center Park. We had great food, great music and it was a ton of fun had by all.
“I’m super thankful to all of our sponsors as well as everyone on the Art Board and all of the volunteers who helped make this festival possible because, this was done without a single tax dollar, this was completely done by sponsors and volunteers. Everybody who has a passion for bringing music to the city of Madison Heights. So, we are looking forward to next year, we hope that you will join us.”
