Explore: Oakland Township’s New Park – Fox Nature Preserve

(Crystal A. Proxmire, Sept. 23, 2022)

Oakland Township, MI- A 234-acre park with trails is now open in Oakland Township. Fox Nature Preserve has mowed trails through a variety of woodlands and fields. The current trails are 1.4 miles, but there are more to come.

According to the township’s website, the purchase of the property was funding by a combination of a Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund grant, which covered 75% of the purchase price, and matching funds from the Oakland Township’s Land Preservation millage.

The park is open between dawn and dusk. Visitors can walk, bike or ride horseback, though the parking lot at 1627 West Predmore Road is not trailer-friendly.
