White Lake Road to Close for Storm-Sewer Repairs Sept. 22 and 23

Independence Township, MI – The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects to close White Lake Road, north of Andersonville Road in Independence Township, Thursday, Sept. 22, through Friday, Sept. 23, for storm-sewer repairs. The work is just north of Clawson Tank Drive.

            During the work, access to homes and businesses will be maintained. The detour for through traffic is Andersonville Road to Dixie Highway, back to White Lake Road and vice versa. 

            The road is expected to close again on Monday, Sept. 26, for pavement restoration and will reopen on or before the evening on the same day. The road surface restoration work is weather-dependent, and the date could change.

            The work is being done by HMC of Sterling Heights. This section of White Lake Road carries approximately 19,760 vehicles per day.
