Ferndale Hosting Citizens Academy on Thursdays in October
The Citizens Academy is an opportunity for residents and community members to get an inside look at the Ferndale Police Department. In the four-week course, citizens receive hands-on information about multiple aspects of police work and law enforcement, including patrol, investigation, SWAT, policy, philosophy, and operations.
The Academy is an annual month-long program taught by Ferndale police officers, judges, attorneys, and others.
The program runs throughout the month of October, every Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. To take part, start by completing our online application for consideration.
The program is free and open to those who live, work, or worship in Ferndale.
If you have questions, contact Community Engagement Officer Jill Mahlmeister at 248-584-2596 or jmahlmeister@ferndalepolice.org.
