Auburn Hills Councilperson Bob Kittle Resigns, Applications Being Accepted to Fill Vacancy
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Aug. 24, 2022)
Auburn Hills, MI – After 20 years serving on Auburn Hills City Council, Bob Kittle has announced his resignation. Kittle made the announcement at the Aug. 22 City Council meeting, effective immediately.
Bob Kittle was first sworn-in as an Auburn Hills City Councilmember in 2002 when he was appointed to fill a vacancy. He has been re-elected ever since. Most recently he served as Mayor Pro-Tem.
According to a City of Auburn Hills press release, “During his tenure, Mr. Kittle presided over exceptional growth in the community, witnessed economic hardship during the recession of 2008, and played a significant role in the City’s growing downtown. In addition, he supported providing additional funding needed to support the Fire Department and to provide a modest increase in staffing to serve the needs of the Auburn Hills of today.
“Mr. Kittle took his talents for government finance, as a Co-Founder of Munetrix, and applied them to the City of Auburn Hills. As a Councilmember, he was consistently forward-looking and never strayed from his convictions. He was a commonsense advisor and without a doubt, always placed the taxpayer first. Bob Kittle has left a lasting legacy at the City of Auburn Hills and will be dearly missed. He accomplished the ultimate goal of any elected official – he left his community in a better place than how he found it.”
