Reporter Food: River Rock Bar and Grill in Holly

Holly, MI  – The outside of River Rock Bar and Grill on Dixie Highway in Holly is a plain looking building that never really piqued my curiosity, but when I finally decided to give them a try, I was so happy and surprised to see a decor that I just love, along with food I can feel good about eating.  River Rock brings elements of up north and nature together in a way that makes you feel like you’re dining someplace special.

I did order carryout, but I will be back at some point for an in-person meal (and more pictures!).

I had the Apple Cinnamon Pork chop, which was a center cut pan seared pork chop served with a house made honey cinnamon sauce with apples, with broccoli and garlic mashed potatoes for the sides. Other side choices include soup, fries, sweet potato fries, vegetable of the day, Brussels sprouts, coleslaw and more. This reasonably healthy meal was both beautiful and delicious.

Other entrees include Maple Chicken, Bourbon Glazed Salmon, Two Hearted Fish and Chips, and a list of steaks and toppings to chose from. There are burgers and sandwiches too, including the Fairview BLT and Smoked Pulled Pork. Jack-Fruit Stir Fry and Pulled Jack-Fruit Tacos are there for vegetarians and there are salad choices as well.

For desert I had a sundae topped with chopped nuts and a beer-infused caramel sauce.
