Reporter Food: Sushi Lover in Clarkston

Clarkston, MI – If you love sushi, then Sushi Lover at 5903 Dixie Highway in Clarkston could be a great place for you!

I ordered three items to test out this restaurant that opened in 2019. They were all great, but the most delightful was the item listed on the menu as asparagus. It’s actually a single rice roll with a few sprigs of perfectly soft but still firm asparagus laid artistically on top, tied with a ribbon of seaweed like a little tasty present.

The chicken cream cheese roll was also a delight, featuring crunchy coated chicken. And then there was the Philadelphia Roll made with smoked salmon, cream cheese, and avocado. fried chicken, cream cheese, cucumber and avocado topped with sweet sauce torched with spicy mayo and eel sauce.

There are so many types of rolls it’s hard to pick which ones to feature. But some interesting options are the Snow Princess Roll (rolled with shrimp tempura, cucumber and avocado and crab salad torched on the top with spicy mayo and eel sauce), Sunflower Roll (rolled with tuna, salmon, yellow tail, ebi shrimp, and three different kinds of tobiko), and the Black Tiger Roll (rolled with eel, cucumber, and avocado fried with panko and topped with eel sauce).

Other items include miso soup, seaweed salad, fried veggies, and edamame appetizer. There is easy online ordering as well as space for dining in.
