Eight Felony Charges for Man Suspected of Stealing Items from Vehicles in Royal Oak

Royal Oak, MI- Suspect Arrested for Larceny from Auto A 24-year-old Madison Heights resident was arrested, in the early morning for stealing items from vehicles.

On June 22, 2022, at approximately 4:34 a.m., Royal Oak Officers assisted the Troy Special Investigations Unit with a suspect stealing items from vehicles in the 1000 block of Cherokee Ave.

The suspect is believed to be responsible for numerous larcenies from vehicles throughout the city. The suspect was located in the area of Eleven Mile and Stephenson Hwy.

The officers advised the suspect to stop, and he attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended.

Royal Oak Officers recovered a large amount of stolen property from numerous vehicles in the city.

The suspect arrested in the larceny from automobile incident was formally charged on Friday, June 24, 2022. Corey Lee Rashada, a 24-year-old Madison Heights resident was arraigned before the Honorable Magistrate Chisholm of the 44th District Court. Rashada was charged with eight (8) felony counts including, one (1) count of Uttering & Publishing, five (5) counts of Stealing/Retaining a Financial Transaction Device, one (1) count of Resisting & Obstructing a Peace Officer, and one (1) count of Receiving & Concealing Stolen Property.

Rashada has prior convictions for Receiving & Concealing Stolen Property, Stealing/ Retaining Financial Transaction Driving, and Unlawful Driving Away of an Automobile. His bond was set at $50,000, Cash/Surety, no 10%.

His next scheduled court appearance is on Friday, July 1, 2022, at 9:31 a.m., set for a probable cause hearing in front of the Honorable Judge Wittenberg of the 44th District Court.
