Reporter Food: Toast Ferndale
(Crystal A. Proxmire, June 9, 2022)
Ferndale, MI – Toast is a locally owned restaurant with two locations. I’ve previously posted about dinner at the Birmingham restaurant, but for this recent visit I met a friend at the Ferndale spot for some creative breakfast and good conversation.
My friend had waffles topped with blackberries and pistachios. I had the Petoskey Omelet, with bacon, brie, caramelized onions and dried cherries with bacon fried rice and cinnamon challah toast with housemade jam. Both were presented beautifully, and the omelet was delicious.
Other interesting options include the Banana Brulee, the Chicken and Waffle, Wild Mushroom Omelet and more. There are also sandwiches and soups for those leaning more towards lunchtime fare – including Tomato Soup, Bacon Gouda Grilled Cheese, and The Ultimate BLT. Toast also serves beer and wine, including the bubbly kind.
Toast’s decor is just as fabulously Ferndale as their food, with bright art and a friendly space.
Toast is located at 23144 Woodward Ave in Ferndale, and 203 Pierce St. in Birmingham. Learn more at http://www.eatattoast.com/.
