Police Say Suspects Crashed into Semi in Hazel Park After Armed Robbery in Madison Heights

Hazel Park, MI – Two suspects accused of armed robbery were arrested in Hazel Park Thursday after fleeing from police in Madison Heights. According to City Manager Ed Klobucher “Two subjects who engaged in an armed robbery at the Madison Heights Best Buy, were taken into custody in Hazel Park after fleeing police from several jurisdictions through multiple cities. The suspect’s vehicle struck a semi truck in the area of Nine Mile and John R. NO SHOTS WERE FIRED. Both suspects were taken into custody by the Madison Heights Police.”
The incident had prompted rumors on social media, including those that reported there being shots fired. Hazel Park Councilperson responded to the rumors online, stating “Shame on anyone who would recklessly spread misinformation about our police officers supposedly discharging their weapons when no such act occurred. And then change their story when confronted with their own evidence that disproves their allegations.
