Reporter Food: Black Label Tavern in Milford
(Crystal A. Proxmire, May 21, 2022)
Milford, MI – The quest to try every restaurant in Oakland County continues with Black Label Tavern in Milford, for a crispy and delicious fried chicken sandwich. Topped with Swiss cheese, roasted red pepper aioli, and house slaw mix on a brioche bun. I had mine with a side of grilled veggies.
I also had a Cosmo, made with Pearl Citrus Vodka, Cointreau, lime juice, and a splash of cranberry juice. And for dessert I had the Nutella fries which were adorned with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream on top of that.
It was a great meal in a bright, open restaurant with ample parking and seating. There’s also easy online ordering for carryout.
Other sandwich options include the Prime Rib (with slow-roasted ribeye steak, Swiss, sauteed onions and mushrooms with a brioche bun with au jus), the LA Club (grilled chicken, cherrywood bacon, Swiss, garlic aioli, tomatoes, and avocado), and the Brewben (beer-braised corned beef, Swiss, sauerkraut, and thousand island on grilled rye).
There are also burgers, wraps, tacos, and salad. For starters there are lots of fun items like chicken lollipops, mac and cheese Gouda bites, quesadillas, crispy Brussels sprouts, mini burgers, steak bites and more.
Black Label Tavern is located at 131 South Milford Road, as well as a location in Livonia at 34110 Plymouth.
