Attempted Armed Robbery at Sylvia’s Dry Cleaners in Royal Oak

UPDATE:
The suspect involved in the Armed Robbery of Martinizing Dry Cleaners on April 1, 2022, and the Attempted Armed Robbery of Sylvia’s Dry Cleaners on April 5, 2022, was arrested late Wednesday morning. On April 6, 2022, Royal Oak Detectives working with investigators from Allen Park, Southgate, and Wyandotte located the suspect and his vehicle in Lincoln Park where he was taken into custody. The 55-year-old Detroit resident is expected to be formally charged after the cases are reviewed by the Oakland County prosecutor’s office.
Royal Oak Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery at a dry cleaners early Tuesday afternoon.
An employee called 911 to report a suspect had entered Sylvia’s Dry Cleaners, located at 1407 E. Eleven Mile, on April 5, 2022, at 12:06 p.m., implying he had a weapon and demanded money.
Officers from neighboring agencies assisted Royal Oak Police with the search for the suspect who is described as a black male, 6’, 200 lbs., wearing a dark knit hat, brown zipped up hoodie, and black surgical face mask.
Investigators learned the suspect fled prior to obtaining any property and was last seen running from the store on foot, eastbound on 11 Mile.
Royal Oak K-9 officers conducted a track to a nearby parking lot where it is believed the suspect fled in a vehicle. Royal Oak detectives are working to identify the suspect who is believed to be connected to the armed robbery at Martinizing Dry Cleaners located at 1015 S. Main on Friday April 1, 2022.
