Holly, MI – On Grange Hall Road just east of Fish Lake Road is a little BBQ stand that is best known for their Mason Jar Parfait – with layers of delicious ingredients. I was delighted to try one – layered with baked beans, mac and cheese, pulled pork, and sweet cole slaw. The meat was tender and juicy, the beans were not too spicy, and the coleslaw was mostly sweet with a tang to it.
I wanted to try the other meats as well, since that’s the main attraction at this popular carryout spot. I got an order of St. Louis style ribs with this great layer of spice and smoky flavor, in a meal with mac and cheese (topped with crushed Cheez It crackers), and redskin potato salad. And I ordered some brisket a la carte. The meats were all delicious and made for some great left overs.
Also on the menu are pulled chicken, burnt ends, and the Mason Jar Brisket Sammy which is Texas beef brisket drizzled with house BBQ sauce and pub cheese, topped with Alabama white coleslaw and picked red onion. There’s also a pulled pork nacho, and some taco options.
There are multiple sauce choices, including the sweet bbq which I had.
