Woman Shot, Child Killed, Suspect Dead in Troy
(Troy Police, March 1, 2022)
Troy, MI – At 11:12 AM the Troy Police Department received a 911 call from a residence on Brentwood reporting a shooting.
The caller, a 39-year-old female, advised that she had been shot by her 52-year- old husband. The caller had fled to her neighbor’s condominium and advised her husband had left.
Our officers arrived on scene very quickly and were able to extradite the female victim where she was transported to hospital by Alliance Mobile Health. At the residence on Brentwood a young female was found shot and deceased in an upstairs bedroom. The deceased victim is believed to be the daughter.
While securing the scene, officers were able to make phone contact with the suspected shooter (husband), and located his parked vehicle in the lot of the Northfield Hills Condominium Complex Clubhouse.
As officers approached the suspect vehicle, the subject shot himself in the head. The male suspect was also transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Investigators believe a single handgun was used in each shooting and it was recovered from the suspect.
Troy High School and Hamilton Elementary School were under a brief lockdown during this incident. Investigators are currently on scene and at the hospital working this investigation. This appears to be domestic incident, no further danger to the community.
