Reporter Food: John Cowley and Sons Irish Restaurant in Farmington

(Crystal A. Proxmire, Feb. 4, 2022)

Farmington, MI – A longtime treasure in Downtown Farmington is the John Crowley and Sons Irish Restaurant, which has been serving up Irish and American fare since 1972.

I had the salmon salad made with Wood fire grilled salmon with fried goat cheese, shaved fennel, scallion, dried berries, grape tomatoes, field greens, and house made balsamic dressing. I paired this amazing salad with a cup of baked potato soup, topped with shredded cheese and green onion.

The salad selection is on point. In addition to the fabulous salmon salad, choices include the apple pecan salad (Wood fire grilled chicken, field greens, apples, Bleu Cheese, bacon, candied pecans, & house made apple vinaigrette dressing), the Traverse City salad (Wood fire grilled chicken, English cucumbers, grape tomatoes, almonds, dried berries, bleu cheese, Mandarin oranges, field greens, house made raspberry vinaigrette), the Cajun black and bleu salad (field Greens, sun dried tomatoes, red onion, charred corn and bleu cheese, topped w Cajun steak, with bleu cheese dressing) among others.

Heartier options include Irish Spring Rolls, Crab Cakes, Beef Brisket Sandwich, The Cowley Burger, Shepherd’s Pie, Perch and more.  The large pub is located right in the heart of Downtown Farmington, with an atmosphere right for food, drinks, and memories.

John Cowley and Sons is located at 333338 Grand River Ave in Downtown Farmington.  Check them out online at http://johncowleyandsons.com/.
