Reporter Food: Wow Sushi in Troy
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Jan. 22, 2022)
Troy, MI – Wow is a great name for the Sushi place at 3630 Rochester Road in Troy, because it was just that good. The Wow Sushi menu is full of creative and flavorful sushi options.
For this column I tried three different rolls, plus an order of vegetable tempura, and Mochi for desert.
Mochi are balls of ice cream inside a coating of rice dough, so when one bites into them, the ice cream filling squishes out. It is a messy, but delicious treat. For this visit they were serving the strawberry kind.
The vegetable tempura appetizer was a selection of veggies, coated in golden breading and deep fried.
The Sunday Morning Roll had salmon and cream cheese coated in tempura batter and fried. Absolute decadence.
The Sweet Potato Tempura Roll had slices of sweet potato coated in crispy golden batter and fried before being rolled in rice. I had this with cream cheese added in and crunch topping, making for a ridiculously good roll.
The Asparagus roll had that favorite green veggie along with cream cheese. Like the others, this was delicious. All of this kept my bill under $30 and was an absolutely amazing feast.
