(Troy Police, Dec. 27, 2021)
Troy, MI- At 12:23 AM the Troy Police Department received a 911 call from a residence on Lark Drive reporting a shooting. The caller, a 62-year-old male, advised that he had been shot by his 23-year-old son.
Almost simultaneously our dispatch center received a second call from a resident in the area reporting a vehicle crashed into a tree on Parrot Drive near Edgemont Drive.
Our officers arrived at both scenes very quickly.
At the residence on Lark Drive the injured 62-year-old male was treated and transported to the hospital by Alliance Mobile Health. A 23-year-old male was found shot and deceased in the basement. A 64-year-old female was at home at the time of the shooting but uninjured.
The vehicle that crashed into the tree registered to the Lark residence. The driver, a 23-year-old male, was deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He is believed to be responsible for the shooting death of his twin brother in the basement of the residence and shooting of his father upstairs. The family dog was also found shot and deceased in the backseat of the vehicle.
Investigators believe a single handgun was used in each shooting and it was recovered in the crashed vehicle.
Investigators have spoken to the father who remains in critical but stable condition at a local hospital. All involved are fully cooperating with the investigation.
