Jan 17 – Walled Lake Northern Martin Luther King Jr Day Celebration

Commerce Township, Walled Lake, MI – Join us at the 23rd annual Walled Lake Schools community-wide Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration on Monday, January 17, 2022, from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m., at Walled Lake Northern High School, 6000 Bogie Lake Rd, Commerce Charter Twp, MI 48382

Join us as we celebrate this year’s theme “Together We’re Better.”

This event has become a tradition in Walled Lake Schools with our students, families, staff, and entire community coming together to celebrate everything that makes each individual unique and important.

It begins with a multicultural dinner from 5 to 6 p.m. with food from a variety of ethnic restaurants in our area. Each of our 19 schools will have visual displays featuring student work focusing on making an impact on our community through the theme “Together We’re Better”. Their work celebrates the individuals who are bettering our world. This program, including dinner, is free.

The dinner is sponsored with generous support from the PTA and PTSA groups from around our District, including the Walled Lake School Administrators Association.

Teen Mentor and mental health expert Rabbi Yarden Blumstein, will speak about this year’s theme “Together We’re Better”.
Following the community dinner, our program will feature several student choirs, students presenting their “Express Yourself” projects, and the awarding of our 2022 Alec Bender Friend of Diversity Awards.

Monday, Jan 17 from 5-7:30pm  More info: Facebook
